In need of a living kidney donor

Bess needs a kidney not only for herself, but to be able to continue taking care of her husband who has Parkinson's Disease.

I was diagnosed at 17 with Polycystic kidney disease. My mom died the year before because of the disease. All her siblings and her father had it as well. I've spent a lifetime with the affects of the disease from stones, to infections, to hospital stays to kidney failure to dialysis.

Kidney failure has changed my life because of the constant struggle with health and balancing life, marriage and family while dealing with constant health concerns and dialysis.

My biggest fear is the inability to work consistently and take care of my husband in long term care with Parkinson.

Something I would like people to understand, primarily is how dialysis is not a solution. Dialysis provides a half-life but it's so overwhelmingly hard on the system it's really an endless battle.

I love life - especially whenever I go outside, it's an amazing world.
Inner faith and basic optimism. I feel I can handle anything. This is how I maintain my optimism.
